Product Testing

We exhaustively test all of our furniture to ensure its safety, durability and high performance. Our Quality Engineering Lab is staffed by ASQ certified quality engineers and technicians who follow nationally recognized standards when testing products. The lab ensures durability and performance by testing resistance to scratches, stains and abrasions and drawer pull cycles – 50,000 cycles for mobile pedestals, 75,000 for lateral files, and 20,000 for doors and hinges. Even in the office, safety is a top priority, and our technicians test weight loads, leg strength and tip stability. Our obsessive attention to quality results in ergonomically correct products that comply with state and federal health and safety guidelines.

Third-Party Testing Standards

We take pride in Workplace Solutions’ adherence to the standards of third-party organizations, despite their voluntary nature. These include American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a non-profit organization that administers the US voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system. It specifies test procedures for measuring various raw material aspects and assessing finished goods quality. Workplace Solutions also meets the standards of the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA), a non-profit trade association of furniture manufacturers and suppliers.
